Lost my grandpa four months ago. He was pretty awesome! To say the least up until last fall we were still riding bikes together he always rode bikes and swam 500 meters twice a week it keep him active and strong until he was 93 then he went downhill fast after a bad fall. He was into eating healthy and excercising long before it was cool, It is always heart wrenching to watch a great person decline. congrats for being involved in thier lives I dont think a lot of people know what they are missing by not making time for old people. They tell the best stories and appreciate every little thing you do for them.
sorry about your loss!
my grandpa did good when he was fishing 2 times a week and running the farm a little.. but after he quit that he went down hill fast.. he pinches my girlfriends butt though i think that helps keep him going!
he spent his younger days doing the rodeo thing..with alot of smoke and liquor and has lived a pretty hard life
he hasn't called me james for about 5 years.. he calls me dan ( my older brother)
and sometimes when we are there he forgets that we are there if we go in the other room.
but if we get out his guitar and start playing and singing he usually can remember most the words to alot of songs
he's always been my hero
5 generations at the deer camp
the old farm
moved out of here the day dad came home from the hospital after he was born 7/21/50
taking a nap on the hill around 1988
i found this this year hector 56.. my dad had never seen this ( casey is my uncle) so i had to take a pic!
i think 92 was the last year he hunted
a tree he carved mine and his name on in 1996 .. the last year he came and camped at the deer camp
