Holy crap is it cold out. Was NOT expecting that.

Anyway I've got to pound some posts for the fence I have to build to shut the code guy up. That's gonna suck!!!! LOL I'm using those metal spikes w/the 4x4 bracket on top, should work ok... and be a nice base when I finally pour the RV pad.

anyhoo. Looks like I'll hang out w/my daughter for a bit then. Yays!

Pssshhh.... you should have been with me today. -7 degrees in the Glenwood Springs canyon, next to the Colorado river. I spit on the rail, it froze right away. This might be TMI, but... later on I took a leak on it... that froze within a second of hitting the rail. We were out in it from 9 am to 2 pm & never saw sunshine. I had my thermals, insulated cover-alls, Carhart coat, wool socks and a beanie under my hardhat. My nose hair froze up a few times... good fun!

Cache Valley is cold. Then cruise over to Garden City, that's colder. Go over the hill to Randolph, colder still. If you still want to be cold you could either stay overnight at the sinks in Logan Canyon (UBER-cold) or take a leisurely drive from Randolph towards Jackson Hole...............BRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr........

You'll be in your shirtsleeves in Toolle........:D

It was -3 out on Nabors 134 when I went out at about 11am to rig up satellite and gas detection units...it was blowing about 35mph but the sun was shining. My slightly damp gloves would freeze to the hand rails around the rig...and my nose would run to the tip of my nose, then drip off onto my goat-t and then freeze making glorious snot-cicles. I was only out in it for about an hour and a half rigging up but that was enough for me.

Most of the drilling rigs got caught with their pants down and froze up their top drives and kelly lines....no big deal, it only costs them 40k$ a day to pay a bunch of roughnecks to run around with steam hoses thawing out components.

Shaddap!

btw, P'burgh has some frickin' RETARDED streets!!! like ubersteep and/or way narrow.

Thank you captain obvious!!!

Streets aren't all that steep in most places.
The streets can be narrow at times, but mainly it's the 2 lane freeways that drive me nuts.

But the biggest criticism you missed: POT HOLES!!!
Pittsburgh routinely wins the title of "worst roads in the nation."

They can re-finish a road, and it will be full of potholes in a year.

Oh, and it's in the 20's now. The cold front hit us this afternoon.
70 in the morning. 23 at night.

A thunderstorm blew through that was dumping an estimated 13 inches of rain per hour. It was crazy.

I didn't want to mention the potholes. They ARE massive. I thought several times that I was going to lose a wheel or break a knuckle or something.

Have fun with your stupid streets!!!! :)

Hey, I lay NO claim to these streets! I'm counting the days until May when we can finally leave this place.

There are days when I am VERY glad I drive a WRX: it's super responsive, and VERY agile, so I'm able to dodge most of the monster potholes.

I was thinking that something like a Trophy Truck would be good for P'burgh....

I'm glad you're getting away. I work at night there to avoid traffic. Makes it easier to swerve all around the uhhhhh driving challenges.
