Ok I haven't had to purchase a set of these in a long long time lol. I need a set of steel 4 degree by 2 1/2" wide shims and a set of new centering pins... Where is a good place to buy them locally in Salt Lake?

I used to get them there just wondered if there were any other suggestions. Checker only has aluminum ones and I want steel so I can weld them to my axle perches. Ive sheard to many centering pins in the past by them floating around.

I know there is the question of steel vs. aluminum shims. From my online research everything I have read has always indicate to get steel shims. Why would someone want aluminum shims then? If the aluminum cost more, are more prone to breaking and wear, cant be welded on... what is advantage?

Ultimate 4x4 in Orem, UT highly suggests the aluminum shims over steel and I cant figure out why?

Maybe someone with proper knowledge can chime in... not to hijack the thread they can also suggest places for shims as originally asked ;)

Ultimate 4x4 recommend aluminum cause they're overpriced and idiots. They tried to charge me 350 for a set of wheel spacers once and that was enough for me.

Teraflex carries them....at least they used to, so I can't say for sure they'll have them in stock or not. :)

Jack-It most likely has them also.

Werd. Thanks for the info guys. Now if my drag link ever shows up for my hi steer from IOPR I can finally spring over my fj60. That and I'm picking up a locker from kurt tomorrow and ill finally have a rig I can wheel again.
