LED headlights

I have been getting close to pulling the trigger on a new set of Truck Lite LED headlights for my JK and at almost 500 bucks I am weighing my options before hand.... Lifetime LED makes a regular LED replacement bulb for the JK housings.

I know with HIDs you really need the aftermarket housings, Is that the same story with the LED bulbs?

Yes, the JK housings are junk. Trucklite is the way to go, I'm just too cheap.

I figured he meant for off-roading but you're right, he does drive a JK... Boom!

I can't imagine anyone thinking they could drive with a light bar on the street. That's ridiculous

I have spent the entire life of my JK saving up for 60s and superchargers and cool Mods like that its time to buy some bling bling for it... It is starting to look like it gets wheeled hard, Poison spyder fenders are on the list of upcoming upgrades as well

Here is the current list in order:

Intercooler
smaller super charger pulley
exhaust
poison spyder hood louver (trying to keep under hood temps down due to the SC)
Poison spyder fenders
50" Light bar
LED headlights (truck-lite)

Hopefully have this wrapped up by EJS and hopefully gain a few horsepower

I have the IPF replacements and like them, see the attached link. I did not like the bulbs that came with them so I put in Silverstars and they were much better.

Do LEDs produce enough heat to melt the snow and ice build up? Not sure if its a concern or not. I would hate to spend 500 bucks on something that's just bling if it had a drawback like that.

I drive a JK its all about the bling, you dont think I actually drive it in the snow do you?

Have you looked at the JW Speaker ones too? Just curious.... I looked in to LED's a while back, there's another brand too I can't think of the name.... Seems they had the best rep but were 7-800 bucks a pair

If you're pulling out that bank roll you might as well go with the better JW Speaker lights. every single test that I have seen they were hands down the brightest. Personally I would wait because I 'll bet the prices will go down now that the newer tech is being placed on the concept vehicles .. ..."laser lights"

The new KC headlights are supposed to be really nice as well. They are a few bucks more than the Trucklites but not outrageous like the JW speakers. I just ordered the Trucklites for my JK and Ill put them on when I get back home. I didnt go with the KCs mostly cause they have a KC logo right in the middle of them.
