It came upon a midnight clear....okay, not really. It was more like mid afternoon on a Thursday in a blizzard in lovely Pagosa Springs. I was supposed to go Christmas shopping in Farmington today, but upon passing SEVEN cars/trucks in the ditch during the 6 mile trek into town this morning, the jury threw out the shopping idea. To add insult to injury, whilst sitting in my sister-in-law's driveway, I thought, "Hey, this would be a great time to try out those cute tire chains I bought last winter." WRONG. Turns out they are too small even though the bag says they will fit up to a 38" tire. Ah well, better to know now and be able to lengthen them then to find out late one night with trailer in tow.
After raiding the movie store we made our trek back home. The snow let up a bit this afternoon so I called our friend Jody who has a big Bronco and once we dug the garage out enough to extract Lemon Joy, we were off! I will give you the brief version of our trip. We were general menaces around the neighborhood and then headed up an unplowed road. There was snow, we both got stuck, Lemon Joy started on fire again, the big Bronco lost all gears but 2nd and a hootin' good time was had by all!!
