When I tube out the rear of my Jeep, I will be needing to design build a new rear seat for the kiddies. I need to fit all three kiddies back there, and have enough room for growth. as far as seatbelts go, I was thinking of having some made by Sharps tarps, They make straps and tarps for commercial trucks. Why not just by harnesses from Summit? I don't want just a lap belt for the kids, but 4 and 5 point harnesses would be a big pain to strap the kids in and out everytime they gotta pee. I was thinking of borrowing heavily from carseat technology, and use a three point design where the buckle is on a short strap between the legs, and an adjustable triangle goes over their head and connects with the buckle at their waist. What you guys think?

Good idea on the 3 point. Making it adjust so when the kids grow will also be a factor.

When you tubin? I thought you decided not to..

I'm going this route next fall.

The only thing holding me back is Thanksgiving weekend. Then the p-cutter attacks! I have been thinking about ditching the hood now too, but I can't come up with a good looking tube front end.

Three kids will be hard to tapper in the rear. I was telling my wife that I was giong to just suspend the kids in tubing over the rear,,, She was worried about water getting splashed up on them.

But, some times they go, and some times they don't ;) I will be interested to see what you come up with.

ps, didn't know you had a bender,,,,

These Corbeau harnesses may be an option. I think they run around $80 a piece. Of course they're made for adults so they may not be best for kids.

those red x's don't look like they would hold much in. 80 bucks times 3, nope. Not that I am too cheap for safety, I am just trying to be practical.

His wheelbase is 107" It looks like he is using a Mastercraft back seat, but he has more room on each side of it to go wider.

I agree they are definitely pricey. Any idea on the price of custom ones from Sharps?
I would supply the hardware, and they would just be doing the sewing. I imagine between 100 and 200 dollars.

You would be able to have them made for the kids as well, which would probably be safer than the Corbeau ones. Any idea what Camo is using for kid harnesses?
