who makes stuff for this application? my dad wants to budget boost his bronco to kick around on trails by 5 mile and stuff. i figure if we can put 33's on it, things would be cool. it is geared pretty low being a 5 speed and the 302 is sweet.
i want to swap a solid axle in but he would never let me do it.

could i get a coil spacer and maybe a small block?
maybe i'll have to piece on together and custom mount shocks.
drivelines and steering shouldn't be a prob for 2-3" right?

thanks guys

would he let someone else do it? :p :)

if he was to let someone else do it, it would be rl for sure cause you know i would recommend you guys...

but all that is practically pointless for the small amount of lift he wants... I JUST NEED TO GET THE CRAWLING BUG TO BITE HIM!! and then i will suggest more modifications :D
i think it would be sweet to flip the shackles in the rear, throw in a 9 or 60 and then a 44 up front with long/radius arms and some long@ss coils :D

for now i guess i can try to find a poly spacer for the coils or fab some and then just get a block :ugh: for the rear
i imagine the brakelines/steering and drivelines will be unaffected but i will need to research it

you know, ttb really sucks!!!! if you start to think it is alright, look at it again and sure enough you will hate it even more :mad2:

I believe Bobdog has an F150 with a TTB lift. He may chime in soon, or you could PM him. Probably best to get some feedback from someone running a kit currently or has some experience with 'em.

I sold it. I had a Skyjacker stage II kit. It had the extended radius arms and the rear lift was all springs(even the factory lift blocks were removed). I really liked the suspention. I never rockcrawled with it but the ride on the highway was better than stock and at speed on rough dirt roads it was sweet. It also stayed in alignment which many people running cheep kits have trouble with. I have a friend who bought a cheep lift for his 150 and it has never driven right. I would recomend skyjacker to anyone, but it was not cheep.
XJpunk, What you have in mind is a bad idea IMO if you put spring spacers in you will affect caster alot because of how short the stock radius arms are. You may even bind up the axle pivit bushings and if not the life span will be very limited. There is no way to correct it with bushings or shims because of the way the arms are bolted solid to the axle. Camber will be so far off it will be scarry. The axle arm pivot points would need to be lowered for even a very small lift. Longer springs would be cheep anyway. What you need is high quality bracketry which is what will cost. In the rear crawl under there and see how long the stock blocks are. Do you really want an even longer block under there? Don't even think about stacking two.
There is no way to lift it right with out spending some coin, and for the same money you would spend on a good kit you can probably have a solid axle swap.
As for the TTB being junk you are wrong. While not what I would want in a rockcrawler, Mine was the best most confortable truck I ever owned for blasting down washboard roads. I will miss it come hunting season.

I agree with bobdog, there is no way to get by cheap & do it right. I have a 4" Superlift kit on my Bronco & I'm very satisfied with it, but it wasn't cheap. TTB does work, it may act differently than a solid axle but it works. I've been on nearly every trail around Moab with mine, it went everywhere I wanted it to before I put a locker in the rear, now it does it even easier. I do intend to do the SAS, but I'm not bashing the TTB. I believe it will go most anywhere a good driver will ever ask it to.

BTW, Broncos do not have the factory block in the rear like F-150s. So if you go with a lift kit it will likely be intended to reuse the 2" factory block. You compensate for this by getting springs with 2" more lift for the rear than the front. For example, when I did my 4" lift in the front I installed 6" lift springs in the rear & it sits level.

Tuff Country is local, if you can get them to sell you a kit that's going to be the most cost effective. I think they stoped selling to the public though.
Their the number one rated lift kit manufacturer for Fords.

I have heard that you can runn 33's with no lift if you shim the front bumper out. No Joke about the ttb working well on rough roads, I have gone 60 on roads that I wouldn't do 30 in the sami. Check out www.fullsizebronco.com, there is alot of information there.

wow you guys like ttb? thats weird! i have always thought it sucked. i think it does pretty well on dirt roads like you guys said... but just drive it on the road and sway a little bit at like 35 and it SUCKS!!!! drive a rig with ifs or a solid axle rig and they both do much better IMO.

anyways, that stuff doesn't matter.

i could fab some lowering brackets for the radius arms, i just don't like the affect that will have on breakover angle. and, i think i need to make an alternative skid plate for the t-case cause the stock one hangs down way too far.
but for the rear there is no block in there so i can add a 2"er in.

we will have to see what happens... i don't really want to buy from skycrapper or junkcountry, no offense to anyone :D

i just want a little bit of lift so i can fit 33's and have a little room to tuck, it is not an extreme crawler at all.

No it is all good. Just sounds like you already knew what you were going to do so there was no need to ask the question.

no, not at all. i was hoping to find a budget boost of some type. i don't want to buy a kit from either one of those companies for my own reasons
thats all.
