what is everyone using for a line lock? I need to get something before the rock comp in delta. craig told me he just used a ball valve that he would just shut off while there was pressure in the line. Im having a hard time finding something that will work and size down to the right size. That would be the cheepest way I would say. anyone else have any other way thats been working good? I know summit and jegs have a few but are a bit of cashola

Doesnt the battery have to have a master cutoff to shut down all electrical? Thats were a mechanical line lock would come in handy.

But stuck more often.

You can do that and still run the line lock out side of the cut off.

Will a line lock pass as an e brake on the safty inspection, or does it have to me mechanical?

Craig sent you down the right road, Chad. I've used electric line locks before, and they work fine. On my last buggy I got a high-pressure ball valve from Evco (I think), with 18" NPT fittings, which I got adapters to the brake line fittings. It worked great and never leaked. It was mounted directly to the left of the steering wheel. Assuming you have it plumbed into your rear brakes, you can press down on the pedal and turn the valve, then release the pedal to have the rear brakes locked, and the front free. You can also keep your foot off the brake pedal, turn the valve, then step on the pedal and you will have the front brakes locked, and the rear free. Way cheaper and easier than cutting brakes, and I liked the way it worked on my buggy better than the buggies I've driven with cutting brakes. Plus it got me past the parking brake requirement.

I'd also like to know if this would satisfy the parking brake requirement for state safety inspection parking brake. If so, that's what I'm going to use on the XJ.

No it wont. You aren't required to have a parking brake, you are required to have a secondary brakeing system. Since a line lock relys on your primary brake system it does not qualify.

I dunno if it'll pass in Delta, but it used to work for UROC. ;) It just had to hold the vehicle in back when the trans was placed in drive.

That sounds like what I want/need. So what are they called and where do you get one?
