Dude, its really easy. You don't need to use a lawyer or pay someone.

Get your EIN from the IRS ( FREE ) https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/employer-id-numbers-eins

Then go to the Utah site ($48) to set it all up. https://secure.utah.gov/account/log-in.html

I've set up 2 in the state now. On for my Consulting business and one for my Land Rover Restoration business. easy as pie.

If you need business liability insurance use The Hartford. Mine cost me about $500 a year for $1m/$2m of coverage.

Ya, it's easy especially if you're just going to be a sole proprietor. If you have partners, you may want to have a lawyer draft up a partnership agreement.

Setting one up is cake.

Doing the taxes for one is a little bit more daunting. Not terribly difficult, but adds some complexity. A good CPA was worth paying for to me, when I had an LLC.
