Hey everyone, I am new here and was referred by boxrocket who has been very helpful on expedition portal. I hope I am posting in the right forum.

I just got a 2014 nissan frontier that I am looking to get into camp shape ASAP. My Roof top tent was fit on my Jeep Cherokee previously but I was hoping to it mounted like this, utilizing utilitrack, and RTT below the cab height exactly like this (first post, aluminum one): Pictures 3,4

I would love to have this same style, but local shops are suggesting a 700-1200 charge to weld this. I could buy most of the aluminum at Home Depot and have the cross bars to mate with my tent. I was hoping to get this under $500 (the Front Runner Bakkie is 300 but mounts are a little different than what I would like). Is there anyone in the local area that could help me out with this. I'd be glad to invest some of my time too but am allergic to welding fumes (at least with steel).

Thanks in advanced, and I look forward to being a member here.

Hello! Another Frontier, Welcome! I'm on CF too, love both of these places. There are a couple different welders available on here, the one I've talked to goes by ChocFlip201. I've heard good things. I may be able to help find other resources if necessary. I like the rack idea- you should have the legs fold so you can store it easier when not in use- just a thought. Love the Utilitrac for these reasons, I've done a lot with mine!

Good luck, let me know how it goes- Rob

Chocflip, you are closer and posted first, but I'd like to have this project complete by July 10th and I dont want to rush anyone for time.
