Lock Jaw - Green Day. Sat May 29th

Originally we all had planned to run Pritchett that Saturday but a last minute decision was made to head toward AreaBFE because it really sounded like Pritchett was going to be very crowded that day. We opted to wait and run it on Sunday instead.

So we had a great group head out that morning. After everybody patiently waited for me to show up an hour late, we hit the strike ravine wash to enter AreaBFE because the upper entrance was closed. While in the wash, we finally found Kiel's weak-link. He spun his wheel around a rock and caught the metal valve stem to snap off. With some creative work, we had the tire broke down far enough to replace the steel valve with a super grippy, rubber red-label valve stem.

I didn't get any photos of Lock Jaw, mostly because it's pretty short and we all kept moving along. From there we crossed Strike Ravine trail and entered Green Day and headed up backwards which is my favorite way to run.

Mostly uneventful until we hit suicide hill. A few in the crew provided some good entertainment including one broken ford 9" case and a broken C6 transmission (yep, same rig).

Kiel climbed it first try. Jpest got 90% and put himself into a bad spot. Quick strap up. I know he can do it, that was super close... just not worth the backward roll at that point.

Bryson was a little more seasoned at it and once he found his rig's line he drove it no problem.
Tanner gave it hell and his buggy gave him hell right back.

^ at least you tried. I didn't even put my tires on it. I just drove around, and almost got stuck in the sand on the hill next to it. Plus, you pretty much had it. I think you'll walk it next time.
