well i'm trying to cut back on being psychic so can you fill us in on what type of vehicle ,axle you know the other information that helps.my guess would be this is a Jeep or something with unit bearings (something with a front end that is always locked).look at the front Ujoints or axle joints.could even be the front driveshaft is out of balance.take the front shaft off and see if its there.if its still there then start working on the front end

any problems I have ever had with vibrations have been due to angles on the driveline. if all you did was install the locker though, you would imagine that it wouldnt be the driveline though.

Well kind of sounds like my problem but I have vibration's at higher speeds and when im on the gas take my foot off and it goes away checked u-joints and they seem to be ok and mine is on a 77 CJ-7. Wish I could help you out but I am fighting mine so let me know what you find out if you would.

I would start by taking out the driveline again annd make sure that one of the rods bearings in your caps didn't fall to the side. This will make you drive line not sit exactly right in the yolk and cause the vibration you are talking about .

After checking everything, it took my older brother(mattvw65) about .. 30 seconds to figure out what it was......

FRIGGING Wheel spacer!!

I pulled the wheel and had 2 of 5 lugs on, and those only had about 6 threads each VERY loose on the lug. One of the 5 lugs BROKEN off and, he discovered it when he pulled the cap off my rear hub ( little plastIc center cap on the alloy rums) and he sa aluminum shavings.

Suffice it to say Id have lost a wheel on the way to moab today, Im about to leave in a half hour, am damn glad we found it. Its running awesome and its this rigs first trip.

If any o fyou are down there this weekend and see a white Sidekick or a Big yellow XJ come say hello

Ya, some people should just not work on cars...........

And some people are just plain asses, you have a serious problem with attitude, how you ever made moderator is a mystery to me.

You have ALWAYS been a pompous, narcissistic, jerk. You have this god complex like you have never done any wrong, I sure am glad there are people like you so I know what type of attitude to watch for when I get in over my head on projects.

I have much more to say but I am sure your powers of removal will fix this post, so Ill just end it here. You just made me feel better about my obstinate feelings towards you.

Enjoy your god complex somewhere else.

Shawn may seem like a bit of an ass on here, but in real life he actually smells kinda funny.

Thought he was a moderator, was off on that one. Ive met him in RL, just not long enough to form a in person opinion. Could be completey, different.

When you meet him in rl the first impression that he gives is a bit like you described earlier, he is however nothing like that... just need to talk to him a bit to realize that.

I agree...I've only met Shawn a few times (on and off the trail) and I've never thought negative of him.... Seems like an intelligent nice guy that speaks his mind and has no time for BS or *****-footing around.
