I think that you are the only one up for the challenge of it, but on powerblock tv (now powernation tv) the did a jetta tdi swap to a suzuki. I bet you could do that to a tracker. That would be my vote. It would "feed the need" to build. and you would knock off the list as well. ;)

I guess I wouldn't want a full longtravel car for DD, but a mid-travel wagon would be sweet.

Most cars have a unibody, and most true 4x4s have a frame. It's hard to lift a unibody and keep it strong.

I have seen a handful of domestic, old-iron muscle cars that have been turned into desert cars... and I LOVE the idea! So badass... I'd love to put one together some day. ;)

First time I ever ran the PET was in a '68 Chevelle. Ran that thing all over the desert. At SPEED.

Saw a bunch of rigs heading to Vegas as we were in our way to the Cali coast yesterday, one looked like a old dart, it was pretty sweet.

I had a dream last night that I was driving a Mini like Cascadia's wife's car, and I got stuck offroad and I pushed a button on the dash and engaged some lockers to get unstuck haha

I didnt know you were involved with that class 5... thats a pretty sweet car for sure!

Yessir, I drive/co-drive as well as wrench on it along with the rest of our team of 6 gents (all RME'ers too as I recall). I've raced the Mint 400, Vegas 2 Reno, Baja 1000, BOR, Ely, etc. It has been an absolute riot and a great car but we are ready for something bigger and faster and given that we are all Toyota guys it makes sense to be in a Tundra or similar. Shopping is underway but we won't get super serious until Matilda sells. If it doesn't sell, it's a few weekends away from being race prepped for a B1K or similar race. About as much fun as you can have in a 2WD car :D

There's also the WK2 Grand Cherokee. Avoid the Overland/Trailhawk editions with the ride height control and you can run 2.5" lift and 32" tires. IFS/IRS, 4x4, 4low, electronic limited slip in some models, and certainly rides nice at 85 mph.

No, they have a "setting" dial for different terrain/driving styles, one of them is sport mode, 20/80 power split front to back vs 50/50 in all of the other modes. How it works in the transfer case I have no idea :)
