look what ruined my weekend in moab!!!!

these are the spider gears out of a Dana 35c trak lok i was just past rocker knocker on the prichet trail then bam bam!! dam that was loud i got the jeep out with the ft axle and a whole lot of winching !! got abought half way down towards 191 and bam! i lost all drive we got it to moab with a tow rope that next morning i went to moab off road they let me push my jeep in the shop and i figured what i needed and then they said 40 bucks for used gears got mine all tore apart then they couldn't find any for a trak lok they had a new trak lok on the shelf and pulled the spiders out of it!! then to top that off they gave me gear fluid! i was back on the road moab off road kicks ass my jeep wont go in to 4x4 any suggestions? i think it is in the transfer case

Let me get this right... you were running Pritchett Canyon with a Dana 35C, I'm guessing 33's (what? on a Dana 35C), Trac-loc, and some Peyote? LOL

you guys are way too hard on the D35c.....I've run Pritchett with 33s on my D35c and had no problems (at least not with the D35!!)

I ran pritchett with a 35c and 31" 33's open front and rear.

Took 2 straps to do it but thats it.

Yeah, I ran it a couple of times with the 35C, no problems....I only changed rear axles out of peer pressure....

I've run it a few times with the D35.....always had a hole spare axle available (housing and all) though....I think they'll hold up OK under 33" tires and just a Tracklock. You lock them up and you're asking for problems....

I had a trip to Moab ended early due to broken spider gears like that. My own fault though, I was running 38.5 SX's on stock D30/D44 3.73's.

My last Moab trip was interrupted by this:

35 spline Dana 60 shaft broke (melted really) due to a bent spindle.

what tranny do you have the 5 speed or the auto? because the way i see it if your braking spiders the abuse going on. we all know you should report all abuse. HAHAHA J\K
