Looking for an electrician on the board who can help me with a portion of our basement remodel.

What I need is power from the main breaker (located outside) brought out and into the basement for the aux breaker box. I'll have everything else in the basement wired and ready to go.

I had to make a conduit run up into the attic of our house from the outside box and then find a proper spot to run all the way down to the basement. Luckily I only had to make a small hole in a wall within a closet upstairs to get the lines fed down into the basement. Worked out really well. After I got the lines ran, I had an electrician friend come verify that it was all savvy and he hooked it up at the breaker box for me. I just made sure to leave enough extra hanging out to make it easy for him.

We were thinking that we'd run the power out of the main box, through conduit, into the basement via a hole that we will drill through to concrete, right next to the existing conduit with power from the main box.

That would be better than what I had to do. The layout of ours and the position of our box made it much easier to run upward, inside and then down.

Makes sense. Our basement just has insulation, so getting the power plumbed through shouldn't be any harder than drilling the hole.
