I'm looking for someone to rebuild a '91 SBC 350 and also someone to rebuild a TH700R4. I'm looking for someone who is willing to spend a few minutes with me to help sort out questions about how these items should be rebuilt to be better suited to a crawler. For instance, I need a transmission rebuilder who will help me decide whether the trans should have a shift improver kit, a special torque converter, etc. I also need an engine rebuilder who can help me sort out what kind of cam and other parts might be best suited to a crawler.
I'm trying to avoid scenarios such as ending up with a technician who builds street rods who reccomends a lopey cam that doesn't work well with rock crawling or my torque converter setup or builds a hig-rev motor that loses low-end torque.
I'm not looking to break any axles with the motor, so I'm just seeking a stock or mild-performance build for a reasonable price from a knowledgable and honest technician, but also need a technician who will give my setup some thought before selling me on the rebuilds.
Any help/reccomendations is appreciated.
