So I got a diff cover the other day from Teraflex*, and needed a gasket too. I remembered Summit immediately, and called for a Lube Locker. They've gone up in price somewhat, which I'll be calling to ***** about Monday, but they are an awesome gasket if you need one.
Steel core with elastomer "o-ring" deals around the perimeter. They are in a double configuration, so leaks would have to defeat two barriers on the way out. The package comes with a sticker and a diagram showing their recommended torque sequence: two steps, to 15ft.lbs and 35 final. Okay then! Though they don't advertise it, Mike tells me they are reusable, and based on the design and my experience with newer intake gaskets featuring the same basic construction, I'd say they probably are.
Anyway. If you want a cool gasket like that, call Mike at Summit Machine and get one. I would ordinarily not spend the coin on a gasket but it's going on my pimp new cover and I wanted to try one out.
