Not to bag on HighHonda at all (he's a KEWL guy), but by the time you pay shipping, you should have just bought from Six States. Like JamesK mentioned, Rocklogic has turned some down. Almost any machine shop 'could' if they would.

I was going to buy GM part #15635530 from www.gmpartsdirect.com until I found a used set. Mine got backordered and I got tired of waiting for it. Supposedly, this is a SRW hub with bearings and rotor. Price is $114.72 per (which is a steal with the bearings and rotor). I bet you'd pay $75-100 per side to have them machined.

It's not a bad deal at all. There just might be better out there. He has those in stock and available (which is actually worth something IMHO), as does Six States. A bird in hand is better than 5 in the bush :D There's something to be said for actually having a part in your hands PDQ, and moving on with your project.

I've not seen the GMpartsdirect.com go through the system and when I had Murdock try to order me a set they were backordered (that was about May '05). I don't know if they are 'perma'-backordered or not.

so what the most someone should pay for a drw d60 ?

Frankly, I'm not sure. I know I got mine CHEAP but partially disassembled/lost, and I've got over $600 in it (not counting steering or lockers or anything and not that I'm bitching about what I've got in it, either) and have used up more than a few favors getting it together. I don't know that I'd pay more than $700 for one knowing you'd need to swap to SRW. You're into it at LEAST $250-400 to just get it to SRW unless you can find someone willing to trade dually for non-dually hubs (which happens, but it's rare), or the aforementioned NEW GM parts, or machine down your dually hubs (could be the cheapest option), or find a used (again, very rare) set of SRW hubs, plus whatever rebuild parts you'll need (kingpins, axle joints, etc.).

However, I've got the H1 wheels that are perfect for a dually axle (with 38" SX tires, I'm 83" sidewall to sidewall), so if you could/would run that, you've got a strong axle for a pretty reasonable price. Finding a rear wide enough to 'match' is pretty challenging, though (my SRW 14 bolt with the same tires/wheels is 75" sidewall to sidewall--if I left it like it is, I bet it would turn pretty well). With the SRW hubs I just acquired, I'm betting I'm not much wider than 76-77" at the sidewall, which should be VERY similar to a stock CJ-YJ-TJ with bigger wheels tires (inspectable :D).

well i got my front d60 for free, actually i got paid 200 bux for it.

but i know toykrawler and i know what he is paying for the d60 dually. its less than 700 and hes not sure if its a deal or worth his time and money.

if it were me i would get them machined but im not sure how much that would cost.

i am 87 outsidewall to sidewall on my front and rear 42 iroks and 67.5 wms to wms front and rear then the tires and rims.

its a great width so far for the once i have run it.

well its up to toykrawler i just told him i would help him find hubs if possible.

If he's busting joints/axleshafts in a D44 or a Toy front, I'd do it for sure. It's not like he has to put it under the truck tomorrow or anything either. I don't regret my purchase at all. It's just not as easy as finding a SRW and paying about $1000 for it and eliminating the hassle of swapping.

i agree. then 300 bux into new spindles and what not.

also what i you buy a d60 srw and then you have to put on new calipers and brakepads.

thats pricey. buy a drw and convert it and buy all that stuff in the process.

hey ktoy, one thing i never thought of is that the hub will stick out like three inches and i don't want to do hummer rims. maybe i should just look for a pair of srw hubs.

That seems a little far, but I'll let you know in a few weeks. (I need someone to buy my Suburban or I'd already know.) I think it'll be more like an 1" to 1.5" with lockouts. Less with drive flanges.

it shouldnt stick out past the rim at all. it should be a lil longer than a normal hub but they can machine the end down i would think.

but ya maybe new hubs and what not might be the way to go.
