Hey all, just got word that my girlfriends grandfather has been missing since friday 3/22 somewhere between St. George and Mesquite. He gave word that he was heading so Skull/School valley, but did not say for how long. He usually goes on drives in the desert, but normally no longer than overnight. He is an older gentleman, probably in his 70's. Driving a white mid 90's 4-door S10 blazer with Utah plates. His phone is off; last call was made around 2pm friday.

If you are in the area, and might be able to help us look, send me a PM. i will most likely be heading down there this afternoon; some other people are already in route. I will post updates here as i get them.

THEY FOUND HIM.


not sure where, but his battery died sometime friday. he spent the last three days on his own, but he planned ahead and brought food and water in case something like this happened. A friend of his who sometimes goes on these drives with him knew the area, and found him about an hour ago.
 
Excellent non-newsworthy story! Glad he was prepared, it could easily have turned out completely differently. :eek:
 
yea he did everything right, (except checking his alternator apparently). he prepared himself. he let people know where he was going, and how long he would be gone. When he broke down, he stayed put. He's 74 years old, but still very capable. He was about 10 miles outside town apparently, but still managed to not see anyone for 3 days.
