After a brief stop at the Kel Camp to regroup and eat some yummy sandwiches, we were off to LockJaw. Somehow I ended up in the lead and boldly approached the first obstacle confident in Lemon Joy. Holy monkeys has it gotten dug out!! The ledges are pretty big now and for a big girl like LJ, it's a nasty double whammy that kept bouncing her big ole bahookie around. After trying various lines and random amounts of the skinny pedal, my very short attention span was shot and I had a new plan!!
I was going to drive up the wall on the left. Yes, it's steeper than sin, but dang it, there was a ramp for my passenger side and by golly, I have 113 inches of wheel base. No worries! Boy, was I WRONG. In no time at all, I was on my side laying in the arms of a very kind tree.
It was awkward.
Thankfully, after minimal pointing and laughing, Chris and everyone got on the strap and held me down while I backed off. After backing off, I promptly hopped out, reclaimed the camera and my two dogs and became a spectator. After Chad and Chris both made fairly clean runs up the uglyness, Sean's turn came.
Sean hit his head pretty badly on the cage when he went because he was trying to hold himself up to avoid smooshing his sister who was riding passenger. Fortunately, a little Ibprofun and a brief rest cured what ailed him and off we went to conquer Helldorado.
A little fun on the Gatekeeper
Lemon Joy is ginormous!
Shane's buggy is so skinny that Tanner heaved him off of Breakover rock by himself....
By the time we made it to the Waterfall, it was getting dark so no more pictures. Shane, Chris, and Chad all made very noble attempts at that nasty bugger, but it wasn't meant to be. Tanner went next and ended up rolling into the hole a few times. Then to no one's surprise, after one attempt, Kelly walked right up the Waterfall. Thrilling for everyone but his poor third member who got all the studs sheared off.....
