Rusty Nail, Behind the Rocks, Pritchett Canyon, Moab Rim, Poison Spider and the First mile of Golden Spike, all in 3 days. Even though no one was around to show us Upper Helldorado it turned out to be an outstanding trip. And when we were rounding up parts sunday morning, Steve ant the 4X4 shop was kind enough to give me a map so next time we don't need help to find it.
I went down by myself thursday night, and started asking around friday morning. I found Bob and Chris from New Mexico who were heading out on Golden Spike and were kind enough to let me tag along because my buddies weren't going to be around until that night. Chris has the Cruiser, (Which is awesome by the way, custom steering, spring over, 37" boggers) and Bob has the Black with red and blue 97 TJ, Like mine only 5 times as nice. Poison spider was great, and the company was perfect. I think we all had a great time. But about 100 yards past the launch pad, Chris had a Little too much fun. Check out the Photos. We spent the rest of the day getting back to camp. I still feel terrible about the Cruiser, and I hope there is a speedy recovery.
Darrin (Eagle) and Adam (XJ) made it in Friday, and Sat morning along with Myself (Green TJ), And Bob (Black TJ) headed for Moab Rim. Chris jumped in with me. Great trail, one of my favorites, and no problems at all. About 11:00am, we finished and took Bob's TJ back to camp, He and Carrie (his lovely significant other) jumped in with me, and Chris jumped in with Adam, and we headed for Pritchett. Awesome Trail!
Pritchett Carnage:
Eagle: Separated front drive shaft X 2
Broken U Bolt and Leaf Spring Center Pin
XJ: Broken Rear U-Joint on Rear Driveline X 2
We also went up White Knuckle, and half the Behind the Rocks trail on the way out.
Sunday morning we Ran around town for a while getting parts, then headed out for the Rusty Nail. I have a new favorite trail. For the combination of obstacles and scenery, I don't think you can beat this one. Bob, Carrie, and Chris decided to do some Biking this day so it was just Darrin, Adam, and Me.
Rusty Nail Carnage:
Eagle: Separated Front Drive Shaft
Broken Dana 44 Front U-Joint
XJ: Broken Rear Driveline U-Joint
TJ: Broken Stock Lower Control Arm Mount
Awesome Trip. Bob, I hope we can get together again for another run sooner than later. Adam, You too, and I can't wait to see the postal jeep build. And both of you please post up a link so I can see the pictures that you got also. Can't wait to do it again.
