Moab May 30-June 7

Hello all,

I will be doing the 1500 mile trip out to Moab on the above dates. I would like to do some moderate wheeling with my Nissan Titan. It would be nice to have some experience with me if at all possible so I am not "that guy." I will be with my parents, my buddy, and my 2 year old son but it will mostly be me and my buddy doing the wheeling. I will also have my ATV with me so that could be an option as well. I am very interested in heading down to Canyonlands and running Elephant Hill. It has been 20 years since I have been down in that area. Other than E-hill I am fairly open for trails. My Titan is on 33's with an e-locker if things get interesting. So, if anybody wants to hook up and guide a noob through some stuff let me know!

Thanks,

Zack

I'll be there that week, but I'll be with the Grand Slam West group (grand cherokees only). Sorry.

Sometimes there are enough 'friends' coming with some of the out of towners that I try to find another guide to show them around while the grand cherokee groups are doing their thing. If that happens this year, I'll let you know.

I'll meet up with you. Will you be in MOAB those dates or is the your vacation range. I could go down there but not the entire time..... Some of us have jobs ya know ;).

Let me know you date of arrival/departure. There are lots of moderate trials (and easy) in MOAB that have great scenery and are family friendly.

Those are pretty much the exact dates I will be in Moab barring any unforseen changes. There are extra travel dates before an after the above dates. We had originally planned to visit Taylor Park in Colorado but we needed to move the trip up to the end of may, so Moab is now the destination. Worse case is that I am not there until Sunday instead of Saturday, and that I leave the following Saturday instead of Sunday. But if I have some people there to roll with then I would not have reasons to head home a day early.

I thank my lucky stars that I have a decent job that allows me 4 weeks of vacation! Otherwise, lengthy trips out west would not be worth it if it burned all of my vacation.

I would look forward to meeting you guys if you do make it. We will be staying in Slickrock Campground.

Thanks all!

Zack

Slickrock Campground rocks, stayed there in Oct and will be there next week most likely. Wow, 4 weeks off, are you in the Military? Spoke to Missy the other day and they will have the hot tubs running soon, can't wait!!

No sir, I work for the Procter and Gamble Company. Specifically on the Iams and Eukanuba pet food brands. Chances are if you have ever purchased any Iams, Eukanuba, Tide, Swiffer, Pampers, Head and Shoulders, Pert, Febreeze, Old Spice, Gillette, Crest, Pringles, Folgers, Prilosec, Ivory, Downy, Ariel, or Duracell products then you have supported my 4 weeks of vacation! :)

I actually get three weeks for my length of service, but I use an option that I can buy a forth week.

We have had lots of luck at Slickrock. They always seem very nice and they have never given us crap about dogs, ATV's, extra people, or multiple vehicles on one site. Even in early June those hot tubs are going to hit the spot after a long day on the trail. A cold one at the Brewery later will help as well!

Zack, I have a Hungarian Vizsla named Peaches, had her 9 years next month and only gets Iams. Her breed is actually on the cover of the Large Breed dry bags http://www.iams.com/iams/premium-pet-food/large-breed-dog-food.jsp She is getting older, but Iams and daily vitamins keep her healthy and playful. She has her Spring physical and shot update tomorrow, but not worried about it. Thanks for working for a good company. Sounds like you have a fun job!

That is a beautifull dog! Thanks so much for the compliments! I feel we have a great product but we really get a bad rep from the animal rights activists. I have worked there for 6 years and have never seen any truth to the horrible things we get accused of. We are all animal lovers that work for Iams.

I actually work on the cat side of our area. I work with a colony of about 200 cats, with about 200 more in another building. My buddy that is coming to Moab with me works in the dog area. It is a pretty fun place to work!

Thanks!

Canyonlands is alot nicer and cleaner campground for the same price. I won't ever stay at Slickrock again if I can help it.

Thanks for the info man, but if I remember correct they were not very friendly with the pets and extra people on the site. That has been several years ago though.

Thanks,
Zack

Just updating this. Trip is good to go. The only exception is that my wife is having our second child at the end of April. So as long as that goes well I will be out there. The dates are the same, arrive late Saturday May 30, and leave Sunday June 7th. Now if nobody is out there I will probably be leaving on Saturday June 6th. Just to have a more relaxing ride home.

Thanks,

Zack

Update

Just updating. I will be out there on Saturday evening May 30th, but I will be heading down to Canyonlands to camp. We will be camping at the BLM campground on the Lockhart Basin road. (just a few miles from 211.) We plan on running Elephant Hill on Sunday, and then I will be meeting up with a group from another forum to run Beef Basin on Monday June 1. I will head back to moab either Monday night or Tuesday morning and attempt to run Hells Revenge with that same group. I may attempt to hook up with the webejeepinmoab group later that week, depending on what they are running.

If anybody is going to be out there shoot me an email zkeys@yahoo.com

or call/text 937-216-2030.

Thanks,

Zack
