Moab Memorial Weekend

... As far as the BBQ goes, I don't know what the plan is this year. What are everyone's thoughts on it? Chris and I have really been back and forth on whether or not to do it again for a few reasons. For one thing, it is a TON of work and it's hard to put on a full event like that with just two people and getting help before hand has been difficult in the past. I feel bad always having to rope whoever we're wheeling with into stopping their day early to come help us set everything up and get the food going. Another big irritation for me is the amount of people who either RSVP and DON'T show up or the people who don't RSVP, show up, and expect food. I'm by no means a catering service, nor wealthy, so that makes it difficult for me because I'm the one who's out the money plus I hate throwing food away. So that's kinda where I'm at.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions??

Don't sweat it Tara, I appreciate your help in the past and I know how burned out you got after last years RME BBQ.

We will be taking care of it, we have a good plan in place and a great menu! It will be a killer RME BBQ, hopefully we can continue with the big turnout and get even more new faces out there!

There's also a plan for something in addition to the RME BBQ that will be very beneficial for the local 4x4 community in Moab.

The date for the BBQ or the 'something extra'? The something extra is in the works, it's just a simple idea of giving back.


As far as the BBQ date...

The date may be changing, depending on reservations at the Park. There's a good chance we're going to shoot for Friday the 28th, rather than Saturday the 29th.

I just kinda wondered since Bronco Mama has decided to stay away from the board how this years fest will go down. I really like getting together with the hood and runnin the trails.

Might try tandem pulling the Cruiser behind the 5th wheel.

Shout out if you old timers are going.

We just need everyone to bring their own dinner to cook and eat. Then we just need to have some people volunteer their BBQ for us to cook on.

Also, finding a cool location for the event.

Tara, no need to go through all the work buying for everyone. We (well most of us) are all adults and can fend for ourselves.

-You asked about the BBQ, you talk about bringing your own food, etc. We discuss the details of the BBQ, dates, food, etc.

If you're not talking about the actual plans for the BBQ itself, but something else, then SAY IT!!
