I didn't take a whole lot of photos and the ones that I did take later in the trip are more scenic. Our goal was to get as much trail time in over the weekend and have a good time. I'd consider it a pretty good success. :D

We got into Moab later than expected on Friday, so that day was kind of a bust except for some great brewery food & beer and AreaBFE to ourselves that night with a nice large camp fire. The night was pretty cold but bearable. I went on a few bourbon rants but luckily nobody was around to hear about it.

Early Saturday morning we headed out up LockJaw, then Greenday from the bottom up

and finished off our time out there running through Helldorado after a short break in the shade.

The new rig's first attempt at the waterfall was mostly a success. Got hung up at the top and had to pull the winch, but she certainly climbed the wall!

After Helldorado, we loaded up and headed into town for lunch and decided to head up Pritchett.

Pritchett was pretty much a perfect run. It actually got a little warm toward rocker knocker, but the shade from the other side of the canyon combined with the early-ish sundown made it really pleasant. We ran all the way to the top and came back down. I really gained a lot of confidence in the buggy as far as stability and climbing goes after this day. Finally a really good successful shakedown on a complete trail.

By the time we got out of Pritchett canyon it was dark so we headed north of Moab to find our next camp... figuring we'd run the Pickle and putt around out in that area until we decided to make the trek back home.

We headed up Bartlett Wash and a few others just checking things out before running the Pickle. We then checked out Tusher Tunnel and decided to cruise back.

Early morning scenery:

I talked with OCNORB EB101 at the stage area and hopefully gave them decent directions. :D

Cool pics, doesnt look like there was a whole lot of anybody out there. Is that pretty typical for this time of year?

I was down there Tuesday - Friday and didn't run into a whole lot of traffic. Friday morning when we left the town was being flooded. But I think this was mostly due to the marathon that was going on. This is the perfect time of year to go if you don't mind it being cool. Thursday night I was in jeans and a t-shirt until about 1130, by a fire of course.

Hoping to get down again in the next few weeks

I'm not so sure I've been called OCNORB before (unless you ran into him too) but I have to say the directions worked out pretty good. Better if we'd have paid better attention.

Your rig looked fantastic.

We did run The Pickle that day too, it's been maybe 4 years and I'm suprised how much the trail has changed. The pickle itself seemed about filled in with sand by maybe a foot or more, and the wishbone seemed tougher (taller) than last time.

Crap, I knew I messed up the handle... Sorry!! I got mixed up after re-reading through OCNORB's thread about his rear axle issue earlier today.

Glad you guys found it OK!
