Z turn is the animal IMO. Once you get past that you should be good. We had a rig in our party that did it with a limited slip in the rear and he made it.

It all depends on what you driving, It is a challenging trail, but it is a fun short one also, fun to do just as the sun is setting too. The z-turn is a tough spot but if you choose the right line its not to bad. I have witnessed 3 roll overs on this trail and two were on the z turn, the other was on top. If you are bone stock, dont do it, if your lifted and locked, you shouldn't have a problem.
When are you going to be down, I will be down on the first weekend and have sat and sun open, if your down then I would be more than willing to go on that trail. My kids have been begging me all winter to take them on it-- Robert

PS make sure you stay on the trail. It is surrounded by a WSA and is threatened by suwa to be closed all the time

It can easily be a killer trail. The z turn has a good drop off clear back down to the road. I have seen 2 rigs roll right after the first ledge and they both had to be dragged up the trail on their sides before they could be turned back over. As long as you have a good spotter and some experience, you should be ok.

X3. I've seen numerous rigs roll on the Z and one roll on top. Don't underestimate the Crack (below the Z) either. It's easy to ugly there also. Use your head and a good spotter. Don't go if you're open diffed.

Probably my favorite trail in Moab! I'll kindof echo - Depends on how your vehicle is equipped and how good of driver you are. With lockers and some familiarity with your rigs capabilities, it isn't really difficult.

The other factor that can come into account is fear of heights. You are fairly close to a decent dropoff the first half of the trail and that is also the only way back down. It is all off-camber stuff and, of course, you are always leaning towards the cliff. I've had to drive around the steep side of someone who was just frozen in place on an official safari-led trail day.

I, too have seen a fair number of rollovers on the z-turn and even the ledges just below it. After you get used to the off camber aspect of the trail, it can be hard to judge how much more you are going to tip when taking a ledge.

I think it is a great trail for an experienced driver. There is only the one obstacle that is spooky.

One time on Z-turn i saw a TJ getting up one one wheel and bouncing. The driver seemed to be having a lot of trouble negotiating that one. I was coming down when I saw the Jeep getting dangerously close to the edge so I threw on my park brake--jumped out--and ran up there to help only to hear a wife screaming and a baby crying in the back  :ugh: I was sort of pissed :( Luckily everyone was okay.

It's not that bad if you know what you're doing, but it is unnerving to some people (the whole, leaning offcamber towards a cliff edge while descending awkward ledges thing). I've lead a few groups of grand cherokees up there over the years and we've always been ok, but on a pre-run one of the better drivers I know rolled her ZJ pretty good coming down the Z turn. I would say for a grand cherokee 33's and at least one locker.

I wheeled with him about 8 years ago. His driving skills make up for the fact that he's driving a Liberty. :D

If a Liberty can do it...

:p

It's not that hard for a decently built rig. Watch what you're doing and be careful, be aware of the kill-you height cliff and don't do anything stupid.
