Then I finished the tcase build by installing the disconnect. It was super easy to install.

Here is the finished axle under the truck... No don't worry that bottle jack is NOT holding the whole truck up

I pick up my old corbau seats from my parents house

And I got Steel for the roll cage and cross member

I Started on the flat belly.. I made a template for the new cross member, the crossmember will be cut on a plas table out of 3/8 inch steel plate

I modified the stock cross member to raise the tcases up in the flat belly position for mock up of the new floor

Here are the tcases in position

I pretty much sit next to them I'm actually a bit worried about mounting my seats, I remember in my 4runner they were pretty tight with out the raised floor

looking great Robby, I love the progress you've made. That's an air disconnect, right? Does TG make a compressor to go with it, or are you going to use an ARB compressor?

Trail gear does not make a compressor for it. It will work nicely with an ARB copressor or alike with the same operating psi.. That disconnect is so sexy! Are you going to run cutting brakes?

No cutting brakes yet, eventually. I have an older arb compressor that I'm going to take out to Kurt at CRUISER OUTFITTERS and he is going to look it over and make sure it's going to be reliable, Kurt is an arb specialist. Cruiser outfitters has been installing arbs for over 20 years! If that wont work i have a pretty cool co2 set up i made out of my old paintball gun i used to use with one of my old arb lockers, that would be cool to use. that thing ALWAYS worked. ill probably bring that to competitions anyways as a back up plan. Do you have any experiance with this disconnect? I'm excited to see how it works

I do not have any first hand experience with it however I have done a lot of research on it. I will eventually be running one on my Toyota. The CO2 setup sounds like a cool plan. I have first hand seen ARB compressors that have been to hell and back and work flawlessly.

Haha I won't be selling the atlas anytime soon... That build thread will be up as soon as this one is done.

That's good to hear about the arb compressor. This will be the first time having an actual arb compressor on my vehicle, I always had spools, detroits or used co2, I've heard the co2 isn't good for the seals however I've never had a problem

The truck already has an after market front hanger but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to beef that up. I've been toying with the idea of "frenching" the front hanger into the frame, as well as welding the rear hangers on the inside of the frame rails to make everything more "rockodynamic". Doing that would narrow the rear spring mounts, giving the rear end a bit more flex however it would make the truck more unstable... I might try my luck at the dirt riot in Cortez and I don't really want to hurt the stability.

i think ill just leave it.. if it gets in the way or bent, ill change it. seeing as i just got the axle back to gether i really dont want to do a cut and turn. maybe this winter if i get bored. im getting sick of working on it and i really just want to go wheeling. i might not make it to ceder city this coming weekend but it should be dialed in by delta.

I'm making progress.. Slower than id like, but it's getting there. I Built the new floor, starte. My making a skeleton.

And then covered it with sheet metal, some of the panels are removable to access the tranny bolts as well as the driveline bolts

nice. That's such a pain. I've been there before, it looks great. Are your seats going to fit in there? I had clearance issues with my seat when i did my flat belly.

Also started on the roll cage, I got off to a slow start because my air to hydraulic pedal on my bender decided to quit on me but a hundred dollars later, Im back bending tube. Here is a shot of the lower cross bracing and the floor where I'm going to mount the seats

The seats will fit but just barely, I made the floor super tight to the tcase because I knew from my old 4runner that would be an issue

My a pillar.. 5 bends, 3 of them are compounded, total pita but after a lot of hard thinking an measuring, I got both the drivers and passenger done on the first try....

In the truck

I'm stoked about how tight it is against the roof, hopefully I won't be hitting my head on the roof everytime I get in like my old cage.
