Wow, that turned out REALLY good! Those tires remind me of motorcycle trials tires. I'm curious to hear how you like them.

Holy smokes!! Delta was so much fun!! For any on who is considering doing it next year, MAKE IT HAPPEN!! It is my most favorite event of the year by far. That being said, the new truck did great! On the first day we killed it, didn't hit any cones the whole day!! Our last obsticle of the day was spotter ride so we cranked up the tunes, rocked out and got a perfect score. We finished the day in first place ahead of vicious Vick by 1 point! On day two we got of to a rocky start on the first obsticle with a bad diff hanger and we ended up taking a cone. The rest of the day went super smooth we got a perfect score on a legend line, once again we rocked out with another perfect score spotter ride, and we finished our last course with just one reverse we finished the event in second place behind Vick, (we'll get you next year Vick!!) we ended our day with the "money pit" (an obsticle no one had made, so there ended up being a cash reward for it) we gave it a go, and really, we made it as far as anyone did, buggys included, but didn't quite get it.
I am completely impressed with my new truck on its maiden voyage! It truely is just a basic Toyota that anyone can build. nothing too crazy but simplicity WORKS!
Thanks so much to all the people that have helped me on this!! Its amazing how much help people are!!

The next event I plan to do is donner. It's not for over a month but I would also like to go to sand hallow for memorial day... Before then I have a short list of things I didn't get don't for delta that I would like to have done before memorial

Before memorial:
Fuel cell
Tg bomb proof mounts
Fix arb compressor(fried a wire after the comp was over)

Before donner:
Suck down winches
Window nets

congrats robby. It just goes to show how it's about the driver more than the rig. Well done! And who says leafs don't get it done!

How did you like the rear disconnect?

I don't think t-case gearing is a must, but some type of gearing is. For example I ran 5.29's in the diff's with stock dual cases behind a 22RE pushing 38" & 37" tires with zero complaints on & off road. Not that I'm particularly proud of this, I had no problems exceeding freeway speed limits, passing cars with ease.. I drove very aggressive back then, and was reminded of this by UHP on occasion. :/

With that said, t-case gears are nice especially if you don't want to run duals.. Or if you want a stock case teamed with a lowered case.. Anyways, I think I made my point... Lower r&p gears are great too. ;)

I guess I consider duals a form of "t-case gearing". I think either t-case gears or duals should be the first mod after sliders on a yota. To me it's 6's, whether you go with duals or 4.7's; it's the same effect. While an ultimate dual setup is cool to brag about, I only used it about 3 times in my life, and it wasn't necessary. I wouldn't do ultimate duals again.
