Anyone tell me how to modify a B&M Quicksilver shifter to eliminate the reverse lockout...great for the strip, but sucks on the trail, any help would be appreciated....or do I just get a new shifter for my 700R4?

Have you taken it apart and looked at it? Shifters are usually pretty easy to modify. Usually it's a matter of grinding a little metal tab either off or into a ramp of some sort.

This.If you pull it apart you will see a tab between drive and reverse.Cut this out.If this is a DD I would do some type of pin to keep it from getting kicked into reverse on the street.

no its not a DD, but I now wish I had made a better shifter choice...I did find a few posts on Pirate and will see if I can modify mine in a similar way..its a little sketchy with that reverse lockout...grinders away!

I just took the ratcheting mechanism completely out of mine, then put in a pin to stop it from going itno park. Slam it forward and it stops in reverse. Remove the pin to get into park. Worked great.
