My wife is a nurse and sometimes sees energy drink users in the ER.
I've also done 12 hour graveyards... I was a walking Zombie when awake at night. Personally I do not deal well with sleeping days. I had to get just the right amount of sleep, which was 5.5 hrs for me. Any more or less and I didn't operate well at all. Even then, I usually started out the work night with one Red Bull and another at 'lunch' about 1 - 1:30 AM.
I think unless you are wired to function well working nights, there's not much you can do about it, just deal best you can.
One afternoon after working a12 hr night-shift, sleeping very poorly until 3 PM I was visiting with Parker... he asked me if I was alright... seemed pretty concerned. I wondered if he thought I was high...
I have no answers for you, except transfer to days. Working nights sucks ass, after 2 yrs of it I'll never do it again. It did bad things to my body & mind.
Umm, stand up.
Not sure about his job, but where I worked we stood all night long. You can fall asleep standing up BTW...
so about my post about trying the "5 hour energy shot" stuff.. well I picked up a bottle tonight at wally world and was readin on it... 8,333% of the reccomended daily value of vitamin B12.. no that is not a typo... Eight Thousand, Three hundred and thiry three percent... Now I'm not a nutrician, but 8,000% of anything can't be good for you. (it was the "Super energy" version.. I guess this one has more energy versus the regular 5 hour energy...)
For some reason that made me laugh so dang hard.
no energy drink is good for you, but that is 8,333% AWESOME.
I have to know. Did you still drink it?
