heres what i need.

safety nets
fire suits
plastic fuel cell
master kill switch(does my key count as this?)
tons of wierd blue lights and stuff?(i need to read over it again and figure that out)
i need to install racing seats and harnesses(have them just need to mount them up)
from the sounds of it im going to need to gusset my cage a bunch
im going to remove my hydro assist so i can steer faster
definatly need a horn
probably a bunch of other stuff but we shall start there

this could get interesting

That will be way cool.... I think after you get all the safety requirements out of the way, setting up your suspension to work with constant beating will be the nest step. Not sure about yours, but I know my old 4Runner sucked at high-speeds. Bump stops (air bumps?) and quality shocks (bypass?) will be key, IMO.

Keep us updated as you progress, I'd love to see how you do!

my rear suspension works well but my front doesnt have much uptravel due to the 7m, although most people who drive my runner are suprised at how well it rides at higher speeds. i have bump stops up front, if i could get a set of air bumps for the front before the race it would definatly be a good thing though. and yes shocks would be sweet too

I can't wait to see your runner out there racing!

I assume you're going to be at the pre-tech event this weekend at 4WP? There should be a good group of rigs showing up.

How's progress on the rig coming along?

we will definatly be at the pre tech this weekend!
so far ive aquired a set of doors to make into "race doors" they will be gutted and equipt with window nets, i will be once again taking out my back seat to make the rig lighter and so i can fit my spare parts, i will be welding in a cross brace in my cage for seat belts to mount to, and i need to fab up some seat mounts, and possibly barrow some seats(the race seats i have have no suspension  )
ps im still looking for a plastic fuel cell if anyone knows of one let me know

If I am unable to run I will pull my 12 gallon cell for ya robby.

See you at pre tech

Hey thanks a ton! but I think I might have the fuel cell worked out, and id much rather see you out there racing too!

things I need bad!
17 inch 6lug rims
suspension seats (if there is someone who will just let me barrow them that would be awesome!)
two fire suits
better horn
12" electric fan

I think I’ve got a 12 gal fuel cell, the race is 75 miles is this going to be big enough?

If anyone has these things kicking around and wants to sell them somewhat cheap it would be greatly appreciated

Don't know what size you'll need but I've got a 2 piece fire suit and a neck brace I'd let go for $50. I think it's a large.

Come on Rob, basic math here.. Let's say you'll get 13mpg during the race, times that by how many gallons your tank holds; 12.

13mpg X 12gallons = 156mile range ~ guestimate

We'll need to plan on filling up once at the very least.

I don't know if it's any comparison, but at this year's KOH, some people were comparing gas mileage during the race--and it seems like most were around 5-ish, even the 4bangers. Hard throttle and offroad stuff doesn't do well for efficiency. ;)

I thought about that, and having absolutely no experience with a 7M at full throttle 13 was off the top of my head.

I think 2 full fill-ups should be minimum? We'll ask around on tech day.
