Where and how does everyone who has lights up on their roof rack run the wires? I dont want it all ghetto rigged with the wires running down a door jamb or anything like that. I thought about drilling a hole in the roof next to a factory roof rail and installing a rubber plug in the hole and running the light thru it kind of like you do when running wires thru a fire wall and then sealing it with clear silicone. Then the wires would just come in the cab up under the head liner and run them from there:confused: But im not sure how well this would work and dont want a leaking roof. So what are some ways i could do it:confused:

I have done this exact thing. I drilled a hole in the roof, Actually had to drill two because I did not plan right and had to many wires. Got the rubber gasket from lowes and ran the wires under the headliner and down the A pillar to under the dash. Then ran the switch to where I wanted it and ran the wires into the engine compartment. I silicon-ed the 2 holes in the roof and have not seen any wet spots on the liner so I do not think it is leaking. I stayed away from right next to the roof rail because that is where water runs. I am around 2-3 inches away right under my closest light. Good luck and have fun.

Drill a hole dead center in the roof between the b pillars like an antenna. Then come up to the rack. Nice and clean and allows for hidden wires in the tube of the rack as well.
