No more than 2 days ago, I placed my internet order for The Slow and The Stupid through the SWGP website using my paypal account. I was immediately contacted about my order and notified that the full shippable DVD was still being burnt and that if I wanted a copy hot off their CD burner, I could have one....Duh...that was a no Brainer. I got home from my trip into Salt Lake City to find a fresh USPS box in my mailbox with a return address label that I was VERY happy to see.

True to his word, Gabe took the time to burn me a DVD and ship it to me without delay....kickass customer service. This is how I decorate all my CDs that I burn so I was well used to the labeling scheme...note that your DVD when you buy this film will be professionally packaged and NOT a burnt copy...My Sony slot-load 5-disc changer was more than happy to gobble up this DVD ...

As I looked up from loading in the DVD, I was met with a very pleasant surprise....a giant pair of HOO-HAAs as a background for the menu....it took me a couple of seconds to realize that there was actually text and buttons as I was transfixed on the TAA-TAAs that engulfed my screen...definitely a great way to start out a feature 4X4 film!!!

After a few minutes of admiring the background of the DVD menu, I eventually located the play button and proceeded into the film....

I cannot tell you how appropriate this Title is....there are things in here to make you question just how slow and stupid we all are..on the inside...you know, a real thinking person's movie.

Throughout the movie, I kept getting these annoying phone calls...you know, the ones that make you want to reach through the phone and strangle the person that is interrupting your personal enjoyment and pleasure that you receive by watching people risk life and limb to put on a good show for you....
The pace of the movie was great. It moved from one intense seen to another...delicately sprinkled with the occasional mullet/fat guy joke. I consider myself a reasonably fat guy....but these guys had me beat hands down...especially the muddy drunk idiot at the mud drags in Idaho...that guy wins!!
What did I just say? Mud Drags??? Ya...I was surprised to see how diverse the footage was on this video. This is not your average Rock-Crawling Video..this is a Off-road Enthusiast video leaning HEAVILY towards Rock-Crawling...you just can't take a look into the 4X4 realm without examining the real people, the people that make this sport what it is....the drunken entertainment. Whether it be the psycho bombing around a "Tough Truck" Course in a highly....dare I say Modified, Subaru Wagon...catching air and rolling with the best of them. Or maybe you are the type that leans towards wicked roll-overs at various rock-racing competitions...there is PLENTY of that in this video, don't worry.
I have to compliment the camera operators...I have never felt so close to the action as I did in this video. There are several scenes where the camera operator is diving out of the way to avoid basketball sized debris flying through the air....you can't get any closer to the action without being the camera operator yourself...you CANT get that close to the action unless you are a competitor!!
I have to say, this is a great video. I have seen a lot of videos from a lot of different production companies. This is the first video I have watched from Suburban White Guys and I have to say that I will be returning in the future to see what they have for us next.
Thanks to Gabe for blasting out a copy of this film hot of the presses...well worth the price!!!
