Who could be so f'ing stupid! My guess is that it has been eating her up, and she just had to tell someone. Maybe she wants to be caught and stop living with all of the guilt.

A radio station pulled a stunt like this a few years ago. They staged a call-in murder confession, and played it up as a real confesstion. Had it featured on Unsolved Mysteries and everything. Hope this one is fake as well...

I'm sure it is. I know Tom (no, not personally) and he doesn't need the problems associated with staging something like this. ie prison For one, he has the most successful, longest running, etc show on the radio (Stern is no longer on the radio, and is now on satellite). If his show is so succesful already, why would he need to stage a stunt like this that would get his butt tossed in prison and all of the fines associated with it. His show is already syndicated and on across the country. What could he possilby gain?

Despite admitting that she called a national radio talk show two years ago and bragged that she shot her ex-boyfriend to death in 2001, an El Mirage woman repeatedly told Phoenix police that she didn't kill him.

On Thursday, police formally presented the Maricopa County Attorney's Office with the investigation of the March 24, 2001, death of Torsten Karl Rockwood of Ahwatukee Foothills. Police are seeking charges of first-degree murder and filing a false police report against Megan Suzanne Vice.

The 'suicide' happened in March 01. Nov 06 it was on the radio as a confession causing the case to be reopened and the link that was just posted was for Aug 08. So it's still pertinent to keep the thread going...
