My son and I decided to try to see how far in to Murdock Basin we could get. I was skeptical that we would make it in very far. The jeep proved to me that it can really handle the snow with its brand new KM2s. We made it in to within 200 yards of the turn off to Marshall Lake. We hiked into the lake to try and catch some fish however it was still frozen and I had left my ice auger at home. So we came back to Echo lake and busted the drifts in to the lake parking area. There was one spot of open water where the stream came in so we trudged through the snow and gave it a cast or two. We ended up catching half a dozen small brookies and two goldens. We decided to head down the trail that goes to the Duchesne tunnel and try the lake off the road. It ended up being too shallow. We then went down to the river where they suck off the water to take to the Provo river. We had to walk the last couple of miles due to a large tree crossing the road but had fun catching brookies in the river. We had a blast and only got stuck once. That was when I went over a deep drift that had a pond under it and I got stuck with no traction. The winch made short work of the drift and we were on our way. Here are a few shots of my blue snow mobile.
