Sami and I were just checking out a sweet Toyota 4x4 camper in SLC the other day. Its the newer body style (84' era) and hammered but sure looks fun. Did you see the one Oleg was building?

The best off road 4x4 camper was my old Scout II. With the back seat down and pads it had a spacious bed for two. Carried all my gear and food and would go any where any other vehicle would go except extreme rock crawling.

That's interesting. I was just checking out those two motorhomes on this site last night:

http://www.toyotamotorhomes.com

I really like that brown one. I was not able to see much point in the blue one as it is really just the shell with carpeted floor and walls. I gave some thought to building one of those until I learned that it took him two years to get the brown one restored to useable condition.

I am not sure why a person would need to cut a frame in half and graft in the front section of a 4x4 truck though. It seems to me that it would be easier to swap the drivetrain components from a 4x4 truck onto the camper chassis if I understand things correctly.

Toyota motorhomes are so freakin' cool  I have drooled over a few 4x4's in the past but one thing has always concerned me...

...If my 20R is completely 100% worthless with even a small load in the canyon what is a loaded down 4x4 motorhome going to do in that situation? The 45mph assault would most likely turn into a 25mph or less :ugh:

Either way I want one.

This is pretty cool, and could rival the Toy's for mpg, with the Pstroke.

Runs strong, auto transmission shifts flawlessly, very dependable!
Overall this coach is a strong 9. Paint is shiney, no dents or damage to note, reliable and strong running, interior is gorgeous with an easy sweep floor.
It is not perfect as it is a 4x4 that is 15 years old. So, some chips, or scratches in and out do exist. There was a roof leak in the cab compartment at one time that did leave darkened spotting. Tires are 80%, leather chairs are in excellent condition, all flooring is excellent, seating in the coach is very good. Non pet , Non Smoker Coach! Odo says 44,000 but I am selling as presumed 144,000 miles.
