My Olympus winter hike question (

I am wanting to do Olympus via the usual route off Wastach Bvld and am wondering if there is any special gear needed? ex. ice axe, crampons.

I do not think this is the case as the trail is well defined and does not offer any technical areas, other then near the top, if memory serves.

I could never be a hiker. Takes way too long. But to each his own. We run things like to the top of Timp and back in around 4 hours. Maybe a little more depending on how much time we spend at the shack. Trail running is not for everyone though.

We trail run in snow every Saturday. Usually the trails have 2-3' of snow that we run on. That's not 10' though. We use running snow shoes. They're a lot smaller and lighter.
