I have a hard time looking at vehicles when they cut the top off, or start cutting the body parts off, I have a tendancy to want to do that (old jimmy I use to have)

That's amazing. Did you keep it a convertible? I'm going to need a few finished pics.

I feel the same way about my threads doesnt matter how cool it is if it isnt a Toyota no body on this forum cares, Makes it hard to stay motivated and put time into finishing a build thread

I've noticed that as well. Your YJ is one of the sickest builds on here. I think we also both come off as jerks via the internets (in my opinion) so there's that. The people that have met me seem to have a tendency to follow my stuff though. I've made some great friends via RME.

Luckily I'm motivated from within and by my desire to get out and wheel. If I didn't have any friends that wheel and fabricate I'd care more.

I stay motivated to finish my projects no problem I just dont care to update my thread when no body is reading it.... If that makes any sense

And I try not to come off as a dick but sometimes it just happens....

I read you threads! It doesn't matter how hard we try not to sound like jerks, people will form opinions on us based on the most subtle things and then perceive us as jerks through our text. That's one crazy thing about communicating through text. On that note, update your buggy thread and I want to see some pics from your Moab trip! I feel like you and Lyle are keeping them from me lol

Don't forget that this week and next week are the busiest time of year for a lot of RME'ers who are diligently trying to finish their rigs in time for EJS. Not too many topics get replies
this time of year.

I've been trying not to comment on this build every time you post an update. I like the build, but there's not much to say at this point. :)

I also notice that people feel more comfortable posting in threads where they know the poster. Skippy, Mesha, and Brian have wheeled a lot with you, and it's clear they feel comfortable commenting here. I want to be your friend, but I don't think I'm cool enough. :p

There are about 4-6 big groups of people who wheel together frequently on RME. Sometimes they have similar rigs, sometimes they're all makes and models. There's a big group of toyota guys that wheel together, and have a tight-knit group. There's a lot of the jeep guys that wheel together and have a tight-knit group. A lot of the OG members of RME hang out together and have a tight-knit group. In my mind, these groups usually feel more comfortable posting on threads that relate to their friends that they wheel with. I highly doubt most people look at a thread and think "oh, it's jeep content, I better not comment." I look at a thread and think "it's a cool design, i'll leave a nice comment." or, "I know the guy well, and I know what he's going through, I'll leave a comment." If I don't know anything about the topic, don't have anything more to add, or if I don't know the person very well, I usually shy away from commenting.

You are a jerk in real life though Nate, so how is that any different??? I built a frame for that jimmy and then decided to scrap the whole project and started working on my blazer. Wish I would have finished it though. It was going to be a full convertible all the time.

I really am a jerk but if I'm mean to you that means we're homies ;)
You should've heard all my anti-JK comments at WOTR aimed towards Skippy and wheelwagon :)

I dig street trucks. I would never own one but I respect the work that goes into them.

I guess you have to be a jerk to be friends with a jerk.... :)

Everyone is cool enough to be my friend. I've wheeled with a lot of people here all the way back from 2005. Wheeled with Cody and Shane way back then and it was awesome. I also used to go into Rocklogic frequently just to pick up a couple things and chat with Von and Carl. I've definitely met some cool people over the years. That being said I don't really fit into the OG group or the new group but that's fine. This really kind of spiraled our of control from a tongue-in-cheek comment to a full on psychiatric evaluation. Carl said it best

Ok I can kind of see that reasoning, except this is A forum. People are posting to get feed back, it doesn't matter if you know them or not. I've even try'd on me threads to just ask A bunch of q's and suggestions and still don't get feed back. It usually just about the 4 or so people I really know on here that usually do(like you were saying sixstringsteve).
