BLUF: I don't know crap about computers and even less about IPADS

1. I see the ITunes store carries NG Topo which I by far prefer. Does anyone know though if that comes in a 1:24,000 scale?

2. How do I transfer all of my gpx files to an IPAD when it has no usb ports?

3. Can a GPS be tethered to it or do you need to purchase some sort of internal gps that runs off of the internet? I'm trying to avoid having to get another internet provider to have to dedicate to this thing.

Thanks

1- don't know
2- try Dropbox or iTunes. Some GPS apps have you email the gpx files to the account you set up inside the app.
3- there are a couple Bluetooth pucks that work stock, even more if you jailbreak. Exercise your google-fu. GPS is the sole reason I paid extra for the 3G iPad. The wifi versions don't have true GPS, the 3G ones do.

I haven't tried the NG maps, in fact I didn't even know you could get them. I've used the MotionX GPS app and loved it. You can download all sorts of maps, including bing and google maps images. It proved very useful when we got a little backwards in the Swell last spring.

:edit: According to their description in the app store, NG does include 1:24,000 scale maps.
