In preparing my rig for Easter I discovered a crack in a piece of plate on my axle and would like to try to get it Tig welded before end of evening Tuesday (Mar 26th).

its a 1/2" piece and the weld would be 4"long. Its made out of steel.

if you do this work or know anyone or a shop that does please don't hesitate to hit me up.
Thanks Ryan in kearns. 317-645-8927

Also curious why you'd like it TIG'd versus MIG'd if its just mild plate. If you can't get it done before loading up, I'll pack up the MIG and we can find a 230V outlet in Hurricane. I'll probably have it anyway since I'm headed to Moab for the week afterward.

Just would prefer Tig for strength and heat since im in SLC that would be my best chance to get it done...
Backup plan will be to use a heavy duty mig before I load her up on the trailer.

Thanks Steve, ill hit up mikegyver

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I can help with the mig if needed. I'm in Taylorsville and can weld it up on your way south Tuesday night.

Decided to call Lonetree Fabrication out of Sandy... that shop was highly recommended by another wheeling buddy in town. So the fabricator that answered was Tom, he was super cool and realized the urgency to get things ready for easter. He will be looking at it tomorrow morning and & most likely be doing the work. It looks like I will get it done in time to get things buttoned up and reassemble the axle. I'll let everyone know hows things turn out, thanks for the help finding a resource.
