Need a vehicle...

I need a vehicle. I drive a company vehicle right now but in the event that I am no longer employed it would be nice to have a vehicle to drive to a new job or search for a job...

As know all too well uncertainty in the market means none of us can rest easy.

I talked to guy under 4500$ for it. It has an ugly front bumper, an ok swing out rear tire carrier, OME lift, and hideous wheels with pretty nice TOYO OC ATs on em. It has no factory lockers obviously but it is in really great shape for its age and mileage. Worth it?

I am open to expand the discussion into great cars to basically fall back on. When the poop hits the fan financially what is a good SUV to rely upon?

Our '92 is gutless, like 40 MPH in 2nd gear at full throttle up steep hills. It has a hard time maintaining 75 on the freeway. The FZJ's (93+) have a 4.5l motor which has more power compared to the '91 & 92's, but the 4.5 is still not sufficient for a 6500 pound SUV. It will probably get about 12-14 MPG and less than 300 miles per tank. Otherwise they're good vehicles.

It looks like it's been painted too, I'd make sure you check it out real good. That mileage is very low for a '91. Either it hasn't been driven, or the speedo isn't correct. For $4500 that's alright... but I wouldn't buy it.
