I have taken possession of a 98 Dodge Truck 2500 with a 24 Valve diesel. It is a single cap and extremely rusty so I purchased a donor 96 extended Cab 2500 truck so I can fit my entire family in it. I want to take the diesel out of the 98 and put it into the 96. From what research I have done it is a fairly simple swap. Just need the help and engine hoist to do it. I am able to and would be willing to discuss payment with someone that could help me do this.
If no one can or is willing to help I am also wondering if someone has a suggestion on a good shop to do this for me.
Things involved in the swap are taking the diesel and PCM and wiring harness and dash out of the diesel and putting it into the extended cab. I also need to take the brake master cylinder out of the Gas and bring the diesel one over with it. From what I have been told everything bolts in. The gas tank also needs to be swapped as the donor truck was a V-10. The 96 is about ready for the swap with just the Gas tank, engine and master cylinder are the only things left to be removed.
Please reply to the post or PM me if this is something that you might be able to help with.
