Need someone to install my Teraflex LCG kit.

I have an '04 Wrangler Unlimited. Currently has a 4 inch with an additional 2 inch puck teraflex lift. Looking to install Teraflex's LCG long arm kit and while were at it since the suspension will be getting totally redone and grinded off I would like to push my rear axle back about 4 inches. I plan on getting a new driveshaft and SYE and full stretched corner guards. Problem is I don't weld or know much about suspensions. Want to learn though. Anyone interested in installing it for me? I'm open to prices and ideas. Need to get it done soon though. Gotta be ready for EJS. Any way to get a good deal on the kit?

Talk to Carl at TeraPlus he will hook you up he is on here as Ilean, and they install these almost daily. I bet they would be the cheapest all around. I would do it for you but I am redoing my whole front suspension/steering/trackbar/coilovers, so I am in the middle of a huge project I am trying to get done for safari.

Thanks Bart. I really need a truck but I know Ill eventually regret getting rid of it cause I wont be able to find another one for the price I got this for. I figure if I build it to be comfortable on the road and super capable offroad then I'll be happy with it. Wouldn't mind having Nate's Hemi in it though so I can pull my trailer a little easier. You sure you don't want to install it for me Nate and make some money on the side. It says 20 hours install time but you'd no better than anyone.

how are you planning on stretching it? Obviously using the stretch corners, but what about the gas tank? Are you gonna get a stretch tank, or are you thinking about just cutting out the cross member and moving the tank back? Then what about the rocker guards? Most stretch corners make room for longer rocker guards, but if you already have some, then most likely they will be too short, so you might wanna think about getting longer ones if you haven't already. Done a TON of LCG's and a couple of streches and these things are the things people don't really think about. I'm just thinking aloud.. Both Teraflexplus and Ben hanks can do the work for you..

Or you can buy all the Gen-rite stuff, tank, corners, rockers and such...expensive but clean.

expensive but clean.

Exactly. Gen-rites stuff is the easiest, but the tank alone is 900ish bucks. There are cheaper ways of doing it that are still very clean, but more fab work is required. I was just trying to let him know (if he didn't already know) that stretching usually isn't a cheap and easy thing.

I did mine the "cheap" way, but it involved a lot of work. Removed the extra crossmember and mounted the fuel tank like a TJ, built a new mount bracket for the front. Removed 2" from factory fuel tank skid to raise it up plus I have a 1" body lift. Made new fuel lines with factory style ends. Built a new shock crossmember and new upper coil buckets, used longer Tera upper arms. Had to relocate the emissions crap in the wheel well. Used the Gen Right stretch corners. All super clean but alot of work. I would imagine shop rate on just the labor would be big $$$$. Pushed the axle back 4.5" doing these mods.

Nate you need to remember that your not a average DIY you have worked with me and have a ton of knowledge in fab it may be easy to you but I think he wanted to know who could do it and how much.

Sorry it's taken so long to respond guys. I was stuck on a cruise down to Mexico and back. I have taken all of these things in to account. I was going to go with gen right stuff other than the tank. Wanted to go the "cheap way" like Nate did unless I can save up another grand for one of the tanks they offer. Was gonna get the stretch corners and then get the stretch rocker guards. And then do tubes front and rear. I just want to be really capable offroad but this is also my daily driver and I want it to be a nice smooth ride on road. I would like to just do this once but if worse comes to worse I could just do the kit this year and then next year I could stretch it when I throw the 60s under it.

if your going to stretch, now is the time...if you long arm now then stretch later you will be doing a lot of fab twice. I would do all but the tank, go inside cell for now then save up for gen-rite tank or have ben Hanks build one later to go in the frame rails.

What are some opinions on my axles I've got right now. I want to go 37's. But I have a 44 rear and a 30 front. Front has a lock right and rear had a detroit but it blew up a little bit back so it is open right now. Axles have 4.56's. Can these handle 37's? What about with some chromo shafts? I could stretch it now with my existing axles or I'd have to wait a while for the rest. The only complaint I have about having the tank inside is my 93 YJ that is stretched has the tank in the back and it that the pump is so dang loud all the time. Any easy fixes for that? Any thoughts on the LCG compared to a Clayton kit?

37s are too much for your axles, especially the 30. I strongly advise against throwing any real money at a Dana 30. Even with every " Super" 30 part, at the end of the day it's still a 30. It will always have a Barbie sized ring and pinion.

Save your money for better axles.

To handle 37's a D30 is going to need Chromos and 4.56's will be a dog on those tires. Even after the complete build of a 30, you still need to baby it to keep it alive. You'll be breaking ears off or worse on a regular basis if you wheel it hard. save your money and start building your 60's.

As for the lift and stretch, it can be done now, but you need to take into account the larger size of the 60's when looking at clearances. When you go to 60's you'll need to replace driveshafts and axle brackets/trusses. Hopefully the control arm lengths will be close enough that you can make them work. I would stop into one of the recomended shops and ask them for some advice on how to break it up into steps.

Good Luck.
