Need suggestions, ZJ, Ford 9" & Rear Disc Brakes

Above says it all. I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ, Orvis edition, It has the following mods:

D44 HP (Front), 4.56 Gears
Ford 9" (Rear), 4.56 Gears

Pretty standard ZJ setup with long arm kit, Jeep Wrangler xfer case, 35" tires, ARB Lockers. . . ETC. . . ETC. . .

My questions is how hard is it to put in a rear disc brake conversion as the Ford 9 has drums. I have seen some where (Cant remember) where some one used on an XJ with ford axles as I have above, where they put the disc brakes from a Ford Exploder.

Does any one have this conversion done, can give me pointers, websights to purchase kits and all that good stuff.

Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

Thank you

I've never shopped 9" stuff myself, but it seems like Currie sells just about anything for them.
Take a look at their stuff to get some ideas, and then price out the componants elswhere... like some of the sponsoring vendors on this board.

It depends....
Cheap way (what I run) weld on brackets and chev frt calipers. BUT no ebrake. Can be used with cady calipers, but the $$ go way up.

Or you can use Tera or Currie's kit which uses a small drum brake inside the rotot hat for the ebarke. More money, but more or less a bolt on....

Like I said on the other forum, the BCbronco's kit is super easy and held up really well to abuse--provided you keep the bolts tight. Welding the bracket to the axle tube once it's all bolted on solves that problem in about 1.253 seconds.

They were really nice to work with also fwiw.
