New daily driver

I was going through withdrawals so I found a new daily driver and brought it home tonight.

Yes, I know it will take some work, but this is what I've wanted as a daily driver/trail rig for quite some time. Found a top and doors today and ordered some massive 7 inch flares. They will cover all the rear tires and most of the fronts. Hope that works. I'd hate to have to narrow the front axle a bit, but would if I need to. I want to be able to drive this to Moab and the Rubicon, run them, and drive home. It won't be the most comfortable rig but it'll do. I know there's no perfect rig, but this is a great start to what I've been planning for a while. BTW, I have to drive it because I funded it by selling my truck.

Nice Bart! I drove that thing while it was still at the shop, and it was a downright solid rig! Should be a fun commuter ;)

good to hear bart. we need to get together and wheel this spring/summer for sure:cool:

That's the plan, looking forward to it.

Very nice. I'll be taking a look when you post it for sale in a year or so. :p

Definitely a possibility and I'm not denying it. :greg: The difference with this rig is I didn't put all the sweat and $$ into it at the beginning. It's kind of nice getting a rig that is driveable. New experience for me.

Hrrrmmmm, looks strangely familiar. :D

This was much cheaper and faster than building one. Still needs a V8 and auto but that's a year or so away.

Thanks Ben and nice job on the build. I'll be in asking you lots of questions.

I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you have regarding the costing methods used for this project and the activity drivers chosen to assign overhead, but I have a feeling those aren’t the answers you’ll be looking for ;) Any questions about the build process you should probably call Ben Hanks about :D Sorry for the confusion

Oh man, I'm getting you two mixed up. Now it all makes sense. There should not be 2 Benjy's working at Ben Hanks. I'll learn to cope.

Trust me, it's not the first time. I'm not at the shop during business hours very often, but when calls come in and I answer the phone it's pretty much a guarantee someone will get confused

Someday it will get a 5.3 and 700r4, but not right away. Looking forward to wheeling with a stick for a while. I'll prolly drive like the suck, but oh well.

Mixing a ford 351 with a gm trans won't be good. I'm sure you ment 5.3;)
