My registration expired in January and I failed inspection because of fender flares.
Well I've been stopped three times on the way to work for speeding and expired plates and given a warning each time :D
I get warnings because I'm just such a famous personality ( at least with the police).
This week I went to Lowes and got the best recycled plastic and wood fiber edging that money can buy and made some flares and passed inspection today
Now if I just slow down on the freeway i shouldn't get stopped anymore :o

They don't look bad at all!

To fix your speeding issue, you could always try out a zuk. Then you might get pulled over for going to slow.

Bob, could you be more specific about what you used for material? I need to do the same modifications! They look good!

nice ! im needing some for my toyota to pass inspection. guess i know what im doing this weekend.
hopefully mine will turn out as good as yours.

I got a 20 foot roll of 4 inch edging. Its 1/4 in. thick and bends easily around the opening of the fender. I have a heat gun that I was going to use to heat it to bend easier but didn't need to use it. My fenders in the back are cut out and the edge is bent over so it has a flat area to screw into. On the front I attached it to the stock flare. My tire are 10.5 in. wide and 4" material was enough but I think they have 5" too.

The tread stuck out about 1 1/2 inches on mine but Kristinas Wrangler passed with the same amount, hers only has a 2" lift and mines 4 1/2".
I figured I'd have to do something since I cut out the rear fenders and had no flares on the rear at all.
I was going to put something on anyway because the tires sticking out flip mud up the side and on top of the hood and windows :squint:
