Ive been lurking for a while and decided it was time to introduce. Moved to Utah a couple years ago. Been busy with a new job, new wife (2.0 version) and new house, so i havent done anything to speak of.

This is what i have:
1970 ford bronco
2004 jeep wrangler

I like 4x4's, Guns, Tats, and Harleys. I hope to meet some of the folks that contribute the knowledge and experience that i have been reading on the board.

Thank you all.

Welcome to the board Noose!!! Do you have any pics of the rigs you drive/wheel?

Where did you move here from or whats some of your past wheeling experiences?

Do you you have any local favorite trails or adventure spots?

Houndoc - Thanks

Amp713 - The 2.0 version is far better than the 1.0 version was, and im going to avoid upgrading to the 3.0 version at all costs. lol

Tonkaman - i would love to hit some trails. Thanks

Jinxspot - Thanks. I will try and get some pics posted. I grew up in AZ but spent the last 15-20 years in TX and KS. As for wheeling experience, i would have to say limited. Ran a bit in AZ years ago but TX and KS was mostly just mud.
My Jeeps on 35's and long arms, but no lockers or a winch. My Bronco is on 35's and locked, but hasent been updated to comply with the Utah inspection. The Ford will be getting an auto soon and both trucks will be getting bedliner interiors and some upgraded cages.
Ive spent some time out west - Skull Valley and Delle. Get a little dirt and shooting in a single trip, ive read quite a bit of info on 5 mile, rattlesnake, and AFC. Want to get to them this year for sure.

Welcome, man. You'll like the board, there are lots of us, but everyone is ridiculously willing to lend a hand, troubleshoot, or just shoot the breeze.

Def, try to get ahold of the Utah Bronco Club... they do some killer runs thru the year and have lots of really cool people with some really cool old iron!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/UtahBronco/

I personally love hitting the Uinta Mountain trails via the Mirror Lake Hwy out of Kamas UT over the summer months... perfect for 4 wheeling and exploring in non-fully-built2the-nuts rock buggies. There's a special destination there called Soap Stone which is way cool and I def love to camp and fish over by Whitney Reservoir.

I'm also notorious for hitting up the "Snakes trails" quite often as well to through in the lockers and explore all the extreme trails of 5mile pass. Lots of historic mines & mining roads, Excavation sites, overlooks, extreme rockcrawling, camping and a bit of pony express type stuff for cross country travel. (fyi no shooting zone!)

Also, if ya wanna hit some trails and shoot some targets... "Little Moab" riding area is a cool and very close place.
Its only about 22 miles from Saratoga Springs UT... Get there by heading south on Redwood Rd (aka Hwy 68) from Hwy 73. The main blob/rock formation is actually just a couple miles west of the Utah Lake shoreline.

Last, but DEF NOT LEAST is the South Skyline Drive.... stretching from US-6 via Spanish fork canyon all the way south to I-70 but you can drive the dirt road at the top of the Manti Mountains the entire way if you heart desires...there are fishing holes and two track wheeling everywhere. I go up utilizing Ephraim, Manti and Mayfield canyons... :)

Almost every place you could think of should be listed in this site somewhere or you can post up looking for info... The trip reports section of RME is quite awesome too if you just want to re-create an adventure where someone has already located way-points, map coordinates and camping spots. With that said try to never go alone, do what I did when I moved here and post up here in the Upcoming Trips section and you'll soon be networking into some amazing weekend adventures... :) cheers!

Great information Jinxspot!
I think the next outing will be "Little Moab" instead of the west desert.
ive checked out some of the trail/trips on the fourm, but will have to dig some more, the Uinta Mountains and Skyline sound perfect for spring/summer.
thanks again!

Try to go with someone or find a group going. Ive seen lots of stories of people getting in binds out there..... Most of the time it just seems like they get in a spot they cant get out of without another vehicle for help, a guy not to long ago got jammed up cuz he had no winch AND no recovery points to hook to and it really got him in a pickle. I think most wheeling should be done with a friend just in case things dont go as expected.

Good call. I will heed your advice. Might run down this weekend and have a look but stay clear of the bad stuff. Who knows may run into someone there.

If you have facebook there is a page called Utah JeepCrew Community. There are usually guys posting a trip to there or 5 mile every weekend. Sometimes it can get a little drama filled but if you just filter through the stuff you find what matters ha
