Hey guys great site. I'm new to the rock crawling world. but I did build a few sand buggies in my day. I have an old Samurai that I want to convert in to a offroad buggy. So if anyone can any ideas like pics and advice that would be great.

Thanks Twisted Metal

Welcome! Sand buggies are where I got my start, but I was really young back then.

We have a few resident samurai experts so I'll let them speak up first. In the mean time, check out Jeff Steven's "Dirt Squirrel" that is one of RME's featured rigs.

I don't have any pics of my new project yet, but here's a pic of my last sand buggy.

Very nice rig! Our sandrails were never that nice and were built on the cheap, but I've been looking at getting back into it... especially with how much more we know about fab & suspension now days. :D

Thanks I built the whole thing in my shop. It has a supercharged buick 3800 with an auto trans. Like I said earlier looking for pics of some rock buggies so I don't have to wing it like my last project.

Hey Gravesdigger if your building a buggy get a bunch of pics, and find what you like. Then set up your rear suspension on blocks and build from there. Start with the floor rail, then work your way up.
