Well, once again, Craig Stumph and the Desert dogs have outdone themselves. Awesome trail, lots of carnage. Let me see if I have it all...

1 broken axle (Linda & Todd Adams - D30 Pside)
1 broken knuckle (name unknown, drove a brown Early bronco buggy - D44, D side)
1 bent drag link (Your's truly)
1 broken tranny (case I think....I Lean - oh yeah, did he lean!!)
1 punctured oil pan (first obstacle - Craig himself)
1 snapped bolt on adapter to tranny (Darrell - white YJ, member of Park City Packrats - caused quite I leak I hear)
1 broken driveshaft yoke (CJ-7 rear. Gary don't remember his last name, but he is a regular as a judge @ UROC events)
LOTS of body damage, and more would have occurred had the EB not broken on the toughest obstacle causing the rest of the group to bypass while he repaired)

Not too much different in length from constrictor, but some nice obstacles. Once I get my new draglink and a spare set of axle shafts, I would like to go out and look at it again. Does not require a winch to exit the trail, although the last obstacle gave the buggies a run.

great time, but a long day for me. I was up at 345am to be at Jubilee by 8am. Got to hit the sack. Hopefully some of the others who ran it will chime in.

I saw Harkinoff (body damage), WayneXJ (body damage), Bobdog (His CJ performed flawlessly as far as I could tell), and some other folks that are probably members of the board out there.

Thanks to all who helped me straighten out my drag link enough to drive out to my trailer/tow rig. I think Harkinoff was one of them....

That was Carl Nielson, "Team Fred" when he posts on RME.

Good time down there, that trail has some real potential. :)

That's quite a list of carnage!

So... did anyone get pics??!

unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any, but there was a number of people there with video cameras, and Thor Wixom (sp?) was there with a couple of guys. Don't know if any will show up on RME or not. Too bad, there was some cool stuff happening.

i remember his dad, would make us watch movies that they made or something... whenver it was too wet outside, or he just didn't wanna let us do stuff, we'd have to watch videos.... back then they sucked! :D ... looks like he's been doing better work over the past few years.. ;)

I have a new dent along my roofline to match the other side now. :D And I was looking over the Jeep today and noticed a u-joint on the driver side that's about to go. Now I can change it at home instead of on the trail somewhere.

You guys and Gals did a great job out on the trail! Any time you put a new trail together the first time out can be a bit of a surprise (either good or bad). It's aa lot like building courses for competitions, but a lot less extreme due to the lack of cones.

Any number of these obstacles could have been used in competition with addition of cones. I was impressed by how well everybody worked together to get the broken vehicles back out or running. Special thanks to all who donated oil, chewing gum and epoxy for my oil pan repair.

Thanks for coming!

When were you guys running it? We had a small group on Cat Canyon on Saturday and would have loved to join you.

We ran it on Saturday. It was one of the trails available to run with the U4WDA spring trail ride. If they didn't offer it to you as an option, it is because it filled up pretty quickly. Craig only wanted 25 rigs and Most of the people who registered when I did were signing up for it.

And from the sound of it most of the viehicles that tried to run were not set up enough to run it.

That's cool. We weren't down there as part of the U4WD run. Actually didn't even know that was going on until a group of 12 trucks came up behind us on Cat Canyon.

Just curious, how "set up" does someone need to be to run this new trail? 3 of the 5 trucks that were in our group run some moderately tough trails most of the time. How does it compare to Upper Helldorado? We ran that a few weeks ago.

Sounds like a fun trail. I'm also curious about the length of the trail. Cat Canyon is becoming easy enough that it almost doesn't make the 3+ hour drive from SLC worth it. If there was another trail in the area we could hit at the same time, that would be cool.

I'd say, just as a baseline, if you're equipped for Upper Helldorado, then you're just fine for "New Helldorado". Especially with the bypass to the toughest obstacle that exists now.

It's not terribly long, at least not yet--but there is potential for it to extend pretty far up the wash it's in. Of course, like most of the trails around Delta, it's in the middle of nowhere. (not too close to other trails, I don't think)
