Hello, everyone. My name is Kent and I live now in Heber City. I retired last year. When we decided to move "out west" (we were living in Tennessee) I knew that I was going to need a new JKUR. I bought my '13 from a guy who only had it for a couple of months and hadn't abused it yet. He was into mountain bikes so the jeep was transportation to the trails. He had bought a bunch of stuff like Hi-Lift jack with all the accessories, tool kit with pick, shovel, sledge, mud flaps, window tinting, invisible bra, etc. Also a bunch of trail guide books and maps. I bought it all from him. No winch though.
So far I've only had it in 4WD just to confirm that it works! Hope to fix that soon.
I like to fish and so far I've been to Strawberry a couple of times and several trips to the Provo River (five minutes from home) but haven't caught anything big enough to keep. (Will be going to Alaska later this year and hope to fix that problem too.)
I lived in Colorado (Aurora) in the '80's and had a '78 CJ-7 that I loved. Went on trails around the Platte River and several of the popular trails like Mosquito Pass, etc. T-18 transmission and 4.10 gears with 31" tires worked really well even with the 2-barrel 258ci engine. Sold that when I moved to Tennessee and would have needed a big V-8 and knobby tires to handle the mud they have there.
Now I'm glad to be back to drier climes and hope to get the tires dirty with some of you guys.
