this motor has been around the block, i dont understand the whole history behind it, but from what i understand it is haunted, many people have taken this motor, and dropped it into many trucks and come very very close to getting it to run but things come up and no one has yet to see it fire.

well the demon sits in my garage now, starring at my 4runner. will the curse of the 7mge be defeated? we shall see...

heres what i got.
7mge 50,000 miles, rebuilt top end
7mge bellhousing
1 grey harness
1 yellow harness
1 automatic ecu
2 manual ecu's
5mge motor mounts
1 v6 radiator
1 electric fan
and a bunch of other random cool stuff
i have a few other projects i need to get done before i can start on this(a 3.4 swap into sami's rig is my top priority, if any one has a toyota 3.4 sitting around let me, or him know) but this should be interesting to say the least

I think the curse will go on if you are waiting to swap in a 3.4 for SAMI's first. His entire runner has been a curse...:p

Nice Robby, get it in & running!! I got close and ended up parting out my project, I was burned out & had way too much going on at once. That motor ought to be a screamer, it should make that 4Runner of yours move.

so what I am taking from this thread is that Greg likes to build things right up to the point where he has to start the engine... then he gives it all away and no one else can get it to start? lol

now ill be able to go the speed limit! im gonna need a lot of help from the boards. motors are definitely not my specialty but i guess this will be a great way to learn.

hey greg do you know what year is the motor? i was told its either an 88 or 89?

Various parts... the block was an '89, I bought the top end from Rob Jackson & had Strausburg Machine rebuild the head. The block had about 60k miles on it & ran great when pulled. All the external parts, one of the harnesses and the ECU were from my '89 Supra that I drove for awhile, then it died & I parted it out. I took the needed parts for the swap from the car.

The wiring is the hard part, try get ahold of Rob. I think he's still around, he knows these motors inside & out. He can give you some good tips.
